| Resumen |
El Centro de Conservación de la Biodiversidad Agrícola de Tenerife (CCBAT), unidad orgánica perteneciente al Servicio Técnico de Agricultura y Desarrollo Rural del Cabildo Insular de Tenerife, fue creado en el 2003 y trabaja con el objetivo fundamental de recuperar y conservar la biodiversidad agrícola local de la isla de Tenerife.
El CCBAT pertenece a la Red Nacional de Bancos de Germoplasma asumiendo el compromiso de evitar, en la medida de lo posible, la pérdida de la diversidad agrícola local. Para ello realiza una serie de actividades como son la recolección de material local, conservación, caracterización, multiplicación, regeneración y documentación. Todo ello con el fin último de transmitir esta importante riqueza a las generaciones futuras.
En su página web se puede consultar la base de datos de semillas de variedades locales por género, especie, cultivo, municipio y nombre local, recogidas. |
| Summary |
The Center for the Conservation of Agricultural Biodiversity of Tenerife (CCBAT), an organic unit belonging to the Technical Service for Agriculture and Rural Development of the Cabildo Insular de Tenerife, was created in 2003 and works with the fundamental objective of recovering and conserving local agricultural biodiversity from the island of Tenerife.
The CCBAT belongs to the National Network of Germplasm Banks, assuming the commitment to avoid, as far as possible, the loss of local agricultural diversity. For this, it carries out a series of activities such as the collection of local material, conservation, characterization, multiplication, regeneration and documentation. All this with the ultimate goal of transmitting this important wealth to future generations.
On its website you can consult the database of seeds of local varieties by genus, species, crop, municipality and local name, collected. |
